Eagle Riders District 1
Florida
By-laws 2008
Sections 1 - This internal unit, established
under the provisions of 116.1, Constitution and Statutes ,
Fraternal Order of Eagles shall be known as the Eagle Riders.
Sections 2 Our mission is to have fun in a
family oriented organization dedicated to the enjoyment of motorcycles and safe
riding while promoting the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Section 3 All Eagle Riders must be a member
in good standings with the Aeries or Auxiliary.
Section 4- The Eagle Riders are NOT an M/C (motorcycle club). We are a riders
group operating as an internal unit of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Sections 5 District 1 Eagle Riders Florida
shall have the following officers. Their duties described below.
i: Past President To reside over the
meeting in the absence of the President and Vice President.
Ii: President: Responsible for the
overall management of the group.
A: Shall appoint a
BY-Law committee with a minimum of 3 members.
B: CAN NOT be a president of the Aeries, Auxiliary or District
C: CAN NOT be secretary or treasure of the Aeries, Auxiliary or
District.
D: CAN NOT be secretary or treasure of the Eagle Riders.
Iii: Vice President: Shall assist the President and in their
absence shall perform the duties of the President.
iv: Secretary: Shall keep the minutes of all
meetings. Keep and maintain a current signed application and waiver form for each
member. Shall conduct all correspondences. Shall
maintain a roster of all members, collect dues, shall keep an accurate account
of all funds of the eagle Riders and shall maintain such books. The Secretary
shall be required to pay all monies collected to the treasurer within a
reasonable time frame or to be turned over to the President or Vice President.
V: Treasure: Shall receive within a reasonable time frame all
collected money to be deposited. Will then have 3 business days from the time
of receiving, to deposit the money and turn a receipt over to the secretary.
Shall sign all checks authorized by the Eagle Riders membership after such
checks have been drawn by the Secretary and signed by the President or Vice
President.
Vi: Road Captain: One (1) will be
needed for every 10 15 members. Shall be responsible for
keeping the peace and enforcing the BY-LAWS of the Eagle Riders.
Section 6: Terms in office shall be for one
(1) year. An officer may be voted to run for another term if they so accept.
i: Definition of a quorum: A quorum must consist of at least 2 officers
and 5 members. No business shall be conducted or voted upon without meeting these
requirements.
ii: Eagle Riders members only in good standing will be permitted
to vote at the Eagle Riders meetings.
iii: Nominations and Elections:
Nominations shall be held in October at the regularly scheduled meeting.
Elections shall be held by secret ballot on the regularly scheduled meeting in
November. New Officers will take the perspective seats the first Meeting of
January.
iv: The President shall appoint a balloting
committee consisting of at least 2 members.
v: Removal of an Officer: An officer
may be votes out of their position only during a proper quorum and must have
2/3 rds approval vote to be removed.
vi: Vacancies in office: If the office of President becomes vacant
then the Vice President shall assume the duties of the President. The vacant
office of Vice President will be filled by election only at the next scheduled
meeting and not by appointment of the President. All other vacancies may be
filled by appointment of the President.
Section 7 All Eagle Riders members must
follow respective Federal, State and local laws.
Section 8 At all times, Eagle Riders shall
be subject to the jurisdiction and control of the BY-LAWS and house rules of
the local Aeries and the Constitution and Statutes of the Fraternal Order of
Eagles.
Section 9 The Eagle Riders shall not
discriminate against race, sex, religion, creed, color, nationality or make and
model of motorcycle.
Section 10: Meetings: Will be held the second
Saturday of each month following the Florida District 1 meetings.
Section 11: Dues: Dues shall be set at $20.00
dollars per year on the anniversary of their membership to the Eagle Riders. 1 st year Aeries or Auxiliary members fees for the Eagle
Riders will be waived.
Section 12 Allows for the establishment of
Eagle Riders support members.
Section 13: The Eagle Riders patch is the
property of the Eagle Riders District 1 and not owned by the members. Eagle
Riders members not in good standing with the Aeries, Auxiliary or the Eagle
Riders must return their patches.
